Bible Cross-References Explorer

See how the Bible is woven together. All 344,799 cross-references between the 31,102 verses of Scripture are drawn at once: every verse sits on one line from Genesis to Revelation, and every connection is an arc, colored by the genres it joins.

What you can do

Arcs: the whole Bible at once

For centuries, readers have followed cross-references: the small notes in the margin that send you from one passage to another that echoes, quotes or fulfills it. On paper you can follow them one at a time, so the bigger picture stays hidden: how the prophets echo the Law, how the New Testament quotes the Psalms and Isaiah, how far a single verse reaches.

The Arcs view draws all of them together. Zoom from the whole Bible down to a single verse, hover a passage to see how many connections it has, and search for any reference ("John 3:16", "Ps 23") to focus it.

Focus a passage

Click a passage and its connections light up. The details panel shows the passage's text, where its links go by genre, and every reference with its own text. Each one is a link: follow it to travel there.

Threads: read with the connections in view

Read a chapter while each verse sends threads to where its cross-references land in the whole Bible, shown as a bar of all 66 books. Switch between what a verse points to, what points to it, or both. Tap a verse for its connections and follow them from passage to passage.

On your phone

Both views work on phones. Touch and hold, then slide, to preview passages; pinch to zoom; drag the details sheet up to read. Every passage has its own link, so you can share exactly what you are looking at.

Open any chapter in the Faithline Bible reader to highlight, bookmark, take notes, or ask Emet about it.

Data and credits

A note on what the links mean: they connect passages by shared themes, words, people and events. The votes rank the links; they do not prove them right or wrong.
